London is always the same
My business partner invited be for a business discussions and completion of a business deal in London. Holland and France have already been visited in the previous years. I was happy that I was to visit the City because I have read so much about it and wanted to know if all that I read during my school days were true. I booked to stay 7 nights in Russell Square and another 7 nights in Victoria to be able to explore the city well.
I checked into the Tavistock hotel in Central London from the airport after a long journey from the Heathrow airport. The central london area of Russell square has a lot of good hotel.
The area was what i really expected was impressed the first day. I just rushed to town the very day i arrived through the help of my street map. The City was not different from what I have read in books. My tour of London started in Bloomsbury and close to Russell Square where I went to visit the British Museum and the british Library. Next on my list was to go and see for myself the street performers at covent garden.
For the rest of the week at Tavistock hotel London, I visited the West end area. A visit to west End would not have been a complete one without visiting Oxford Circus and Marble Arch. I also visited the Leicester Square. The Theatreland is another name given to some part of Leicester square because the are a lot of various theatres in that area. I also visited Piccadilly Circus. It was in fact another busy area of London because it is very close to Leicester Square. I paid a visit to the shopping streets in the West End area on my 5th day and was surprised to see that the place was so dense with shoppers and other tourists. The famous shopping streets in the West end were packed with shoppers. Oxford Street was the busiest. The China Town and the Soho were just off the Oxford Street so I took the opportunity to vist the area.
I went to stay in Victoria area in my second week as booked through Cheap London hotels agency. This is where I have been itching to be because it is most of the landmarks in this area that I have read about. The buckingham Palace was where I visited first to go an look at the changing of the guard. I had the desire to go to the site of the Tower clock or the Big Ben for what I have read in books and picure I have seen of it. You see the Houses of Paliament from the location of the Big Ben as they are at the same location. Westminster Abbey was also visited that same day at the Parliament Square. London eye was the final Landmark I visited. I still wonder how the structure was constructed. I will always sing praises to the person whose work it is. The London Eye is just fabulous. I enjoyed my stay in Central London and I would like to stay in the cheap hotels in Russell square as they have good accommodation standard but lower rates.
